Welcome to another edition of the Red River Cares Newsletter! We want to start by thanking you for your continued support of the Red River Charitable Foundation and its mission.
As we kick off 2024, take a look back at some of our biggest and most successful initiatives of 2023. Thanks to your support, we were able to award 22 students and veteran scholarships including launching of the Marcy Levesque Women in Tech scholarship. We were also able to open our third STEM lab in collaboration with the Boston Bruins Foundation, and gave out $15,000 in Red River Cares donations to organizations our employees give their time and talents to. Thank you for making 2023 a success. Let's make 2024 incredible!
In the Fall, RRCF held its 17th annual Golf Classic. For the first time in 10 years, the golf tournament was back at Lake Sunapee Country Club in New Hampshire. Thank you to all the players, sponsors, and volunteers who made the day a huge success. Watch this video for highlights from the golf tournament.
At the beginning of 2023, we shared our first CSR report – a report that highlights the accomplishments we made in the past year across departments, industry partnerships, and community programs. We couldn’t be prouder to share Red River and RRCF’s achievements. Read the report to learn more.
Manchester Community College Veteran Center Transformation
Over the course of the summer, Red River volunteers transformed the veteran center at Manchester Community College in New Hampshire. The college was looking to make the space more inviting and welcoming to veterans so it could be used to its full potential. The space turned out great and the staff and veterans are thrilled with the results. Read the press release to learn more.
In it’s fourth year, RRCF announced five recipients of the Jeff Sessions Memorial Scholarship in 2023. This scholarship honors late Red River CEO Jeff Sessions and his passion to support veterans as they further their career and/or education in technology. Learn more about the scholarship.
This year, we announced the Marcy Levesque Women in Technology Scholarship. This scholarship was created to honor Marcy, a Red River employee with a passion to learn and support women studying technology at various stages of their education journey. Each recipient received $2,500 to support their educational goals in the technology field. We are honored to support Marcy’s legacy with this scholarship.
For the first time ever, RRCF’s annual auction was open to the public. The auction was a huge success, bringing in over $9,600. Thank you to everyone who donated items or placed bids. Your contribution allows RRCF to offer even more student and veteran scholarships, support veterans in adaptive sports, and so much more.
Volunteer Week
RRCF and the InspiRED Program hosted the 2023 Volunteer Week at the beginning of November. Volunteer Week is a time for Red River employees to come together, near, far, and virtually, to Positively Transform Communities. Over the course of five days, Red River employees volunteered at organizations across Claremont, Chantilly, Sacramento, and even through a virtual volunteer opportunity. Watch the video to see the full impact.
In honor of Veterans Day, veteran employees at Red River came together to discuss what the day means to them. Watch now to hear from them and learn more about why Veterans Day is so important.
